Dallas is the ninth largest city in the United States and our transportation is up to the task with two major airports, including Dallas Fort Worth International – the third busiest in the world – and Love Field – the home of Southwest Airlines. DFW International Airport offers 36 international and 134 domestic nonstop locations served daily by 60 flights. International flights have increased 69 percent in the past four years. Once in Dallas, they city offers numerous taxi, bus and rail services to take you anywhere in or around town. Most major Texas cities are a short four-hour drive or less from Dallas. |
Dallas is also a handicapped-accessible city with all attractions, restaurants, shopping centers, museums and cultural centers having handicapped parking spaces and ramps and elevators for wheel chairs. Most private taxi and transportation companies will dispatch handicapped-accessible cars or vans upon request and DART has an entire fleet of handicapped-accessible buses and vans that provide scheduled or special service by reservation. For more information about these services, contact DART at 214-828-6841 or the Social Services Referral Helpline at 214-747-3711.
